Katherine is a medical student from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. She has recently completed her fourth year of the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD) course and will be undertaking the BMedSc(Hons) degree in Bioethics at the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics in 2024. Katherine’s honours project will be in one of her key interests of using artificial intelligence in medicine. Having previously interned as a population health advisor with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Katherine hopes to delve deeper into the ethical principles used to direct decision-making. Co-supervised by Professor Dominic Wilkinson from University of Oxford and Professor Adrian Carter from Monash University, she is excited to harness the ethical and research skills developed throughout the year for application in health policy. Outside of her studies and research, Katherine is a state volleyball player, plays piano in a community band and volunteers at a local high-school to prepare students for university.
