Takuya Okada is an associate professor in the history of political thought in Daito Bunka University in Japan. He received his BL, ML, and PhD from Tokyo University and Mphil from UCL. He visited the Oxford Uehiro Centre in 2014-5 as a visiting student and in 2017-9 as a postdoctoral fellow. He has published papers on the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes in journals such as History of Political Thought and History of European Ideas. His current research interests lie in toleration and the liberty of conscience with a focus on the English philosopher John Locke.
