Masanori Kataoka is a PhD candidate at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He holds an MA in philosophy from the same university and a BA in literature from Kanazawa University. His main research interests are ethics and moral psychology. He is now working on his thesis examining psychological egoism both historically and theoretically. During his stay at the Oxford Uehiro Centre, he will conduct research on autonomy and its relation to institutional design.
