Bernardo Aguilera is assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad San Sebastian, in Santiago, Chile. He is a primary care physician trained in Chile, holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Sheffield, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health, USA. He has served as consultant to the Regional Program on Bioethics of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and is President of the NGO Médicos Sin Marca (Doctors Without Brands). His research interests focus on moral theory, research ethics, priority-setting, animal ethics, and other areas of bioethics.
