Anna is a DPhil student working in the philosophy of psychiatry and practical ethics. Her main research interest concerns the relationship between mental illness and the (authentic) self. She currently explores this relationship in her DPhil project, which is supervised by Dr Jonathan Pugh and funded by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership and Merton College Oxford.
Before the DPhil, Anna completed the BPhil in Philosophy at Oxford (Brasenose College) with a dissertation entitled ‘Is It Just the Depression Talking? – Authentic Desires and Autonomous Choices in Mental Disorder’. Her BPhil was funded by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service. Prior to this, Anna earned an MA in Philosophy from King's College London and a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Freiburg in Germany.
