David Lametti was the justice minister of Canada, who oversaw the expansion of the Medical Assistance in Dying law to allow assisted suicide on the basis only of psychiatric illness. With the UK set to vote on assisted dying legislation, and the controversies surrounding the Canadian case, David is interested in speaking about his experiences and the lessons he learned.

David Lametti was the justice minister of Canada, who oversaw the expansion of the Medical Assistance in Dying law to allow assisted suicide on the basis only of psychiatric illness. He is currently a KC specializing in indigenous legal matters, and adjunct professor at McGill. Prior to his time as an MP he was a professor at McGill. He completed his DPhil at Exeter College, Oxford.
