Emma is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Philosophy, VU University Amsterdam, working on Professor Gerben Meynen’s Dutch Research Council-funded (NWO) research project Law and Ethics of Neurotechnology in Criminal Justice (VI.C.201.067). Emma’s main research interests lie in criminal justice ethics, neuroethics, social justice, human rights and the philosophy of well-being. She has published in Criminal Law and Philosophy, Bioethics, AJOB Neuroscience and the Journal of Law and the Biosciences. Prior to commencing work in Amsterdam, Emma completed her DPhil at the Oxford Uehiro Centre under the supervision of Professor Thomas Douglas and Dr. Katrien Devolder, and her MA at University College Cork under the supervision of Dr. Joel Walmsley. She also worked as a veterinarian for many years.
