Dr Laura Ley Greaves is training towards being a general practitioner based in Brisbane, Australia, currently reading for the MSt Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford. She completed her MBBS from Imperial College London in 2014 with a BSc(Hons) in Neuroscience and Mental Health in 2012. Since then Laura has worked clinically in medicine and palliative care in the UK and Australia. She divides her time between clinical work and research, having recently commenced her doctorate studies at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia, investigating the experiences of medical practitioners with voluntary assisted dying in Queensland, Australia and how these may change over time as the practice becomes established.
Laura has a particular interest in end-of-life ethics, palliative care, and assisted dying. Her dissertation explores the ethics of payment for assisted dying in countries without universal health care.
