Photography competition

Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics Photography competition 2021

Welcome to the Festival of Arguments' first photography competition.

The Festival is an oppportunity to explore what practical ethics is and how important it is to all of us as we navigate the world, individually and collectively. It is an opportunity to ask how we should respond to our environment, what part responsibility plays in our decision-making and also to think more widely about how we can work as communities to achieve the ethical outcomes we want.

This competition aims to explore all this in photographic form. We are looking for photographs addressing the following themes:

  • Sustainability
  • Responsibility
  • Diversity and inclusivity

Prizes are offered for the winners and runners up of each category.

Photographs should be emailed to arguefest@philosophy.ox.ac.uk with the subject line ‘Photography competition’.

Your email should include how you would like your photograph to be credited, and any technical information you would like to be made available to the judges and public.

If your images contain human subjects you must obtain their consent, recorded on the University of Oxford's Photography Consent Form. Please ensure that you attach any relevant Photography Consent Forms to the email.

Images are to be in response to one of the three categories:
•    Sustainability
•    Responsibility
•    Diversity and inclusivity
The category to which the photograph belongs must be clearly stated in the file name.

The Competition closing date is 23:59 on 15th March 2021 and late entries will not be considered.
