Gary O'Brien is a DPhil student in Philosophy, supervised by Professor Guy Kahane. Before the DPhil Gary completed the BPhil in Philosophy at Oxford, and a BA in Philosophy at University College Dublin. He has also worked as a researcher for an animal ethics charity and as an English language teacher in Prague. His research interests include the problem of wild animal suffering, and the role of moral intuitions in ethics. In his free time he enjoys running, vegan cookery, and reading science fiction.
