Basil Müller is a PhD-Student in the Explaining Human Nature Group at the University of Bern and an associated member of the Zurich Epistemology Group on Rationality.
In his PhD-project, Basil seeks to understand how individuals and social groups have evolved to transmit cultural information and applies these insights to problems in applied and social epistemology. He also has an active interest in cognitive irrationality, misinformation, and metaepistemology and has published on these topics. Basil’s research-stay at the OUC is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and is being supervised by Prof. Neil Levy.
Outside of his studies, Basil enjoys political work and has successfully launched what’s called a “popular initiative”, demanding that the development aid contributions of the Canton of Basel-Stadt be increased.
