Practical Ethics in the News Blog Relaunched

We are pleased to announce the relaunch of the Practical Ethics in the News Blog following a period of technical problems.

This week, Julian Savulescu and Dominic Wilkinson debate some of the ethical issues arising from the sad and difficult case of Charlie Gard, a severely ill baby whose parents recently lost a court battle against the withdrawal of his life-sustaining treatment. You can read Julian Savulescuís piece here, and Dominic Wilkinsonís response here.

Chris Gyngell discusses synthetic biology in the light of biodiversity and argues that if biodiversity is in itself good, we have reasons to embrace the potential synthetic biology has to radically increase it.

We have also been posting our opinion pieces and comment that were written or published with our partners in the meantime so do scroll through to catch up on the latest content. Regular posts will continue, so follow on Facebook, Twitter, or via the email subscription form on the blog to receive news of new posts.
